ONEMI RADIO

Chile is one of the most seismic countries in the world. Throughout its territory, approximately 30% of the world's seismic energy is released due to the high speed of convergence that exists between the Nazca Plate and the South American plate.

These movements cause technology, warning systems and communications to collapse, isolating much of the country, leaving it without electricity, television, the Internet and the telephone network, in some cases for periods of emergency that last several days.

For the National Emergency Office (ONEMI), it is a priority to reinforce the preventive culture and for that, it is essential that each household has an Emergency Kit. In emergency situations, it is where the radial system plays an important role since the proven stability and continuous coverage of this medium transforms radio into the main support channel.

In addition, Chile is the country that receives the largest amount of solar radiation in the world, specifically in the Norte Grande area. Solar radiation is estimated to be between 7 and 7.5 kwh / m2.

The Radio was delivered free of charge in various community-based emergency prevention courses, organized by ONEMI through its CERT department and held throughout Chile.

Today's Technology is finished, when the internet is over, or communications are cut. But this not, this is in the air.
